This is the GOG.com version of Thief 2:The Metal age, updated for modern operating systems and including the latest official patch to version 1.18. Also included is the DDFix v1.3.11, and the New Dark Patch v1.21, which truly brings this classic into the modern age with full support for higher, widescreen resolutions, and bigger, better textures and meshes.

To install, just decompress the archive and drag the game to whatever location you choose.

This is my own Wineskin wrapper using the latest version of Wineskin (2.5.9) and the most current Wine engine (1.5.28) The new Mac driver is turned on by default, which noticeably improves performance on my machine (early 2008 MBP) There are no known issues with this game and wrapper so far.

If anyone has any problems with this wrapper, please let me know.

Overview:

Thief™ II: The Metal Age gives you a chance to revisit the dark streets of the City, now changed by the Order of Mechanists, a new cult which has embraced many of the followers of the fallen religion of the Hammerites. In a world of steam robots and cameras Garrett will have to face a new opponent - Sheriff Gorman Truart, a lawman determined to rid the City of all criminals, starting with master-thief Garrett. Equipped with a new set of tools, including flash mines and scouting orbs, Garrett has to keep himself alive and unveil the secret behind Truart’s actions. Starts out looking as a simple case of corruption will eventually become much more, and Garrett again finds himself a reluctant savior—but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to rob the City blind while he saves it!
